Over a 20 year career span, Ms Andrada has accumulated a wealth of experience that compliments her job as the Director of Field Education. A native of northern New Mexico , she has lived in Southern California for the past fifteen years. During that time, she has provided care for patients in various health care settings, has worked as a psychiatric social worker with geriatric patients, and more recently, joined the faculty at the School of Social Work at CSUSB. Licensed in California for the past 13 years, Ms Andrada has provided clinical supervision to MSW professionals who are seeking licensure. Trained as a social gerontologist during grad school at NMHU, she continues to have an interest in working with older adults. She has treated individuals, couples, families in a private practice setting with individuals seeking treatment for various mental disorders, including but not limited to, clinical depression, dementia, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia.
Ms Andrada promotes an eclectic and effective philosophy of supervision which includes the integration of multicultural considerations in practice with theoretical frameworks. Her desire to utilize technology in Field Education has led to the successful implementation of a web based soft ware program will enhance field related tasks for students, field instructors and field liaisons.
