MSW program applications for the Fall of 2012 will be available in mid October 2011. Please contact Shanta Moore in the School of Social Work office to obtain an application.

Information Sessions

Information sessions are intended to answer questions regarding the application process and to provide an overview of the Master of Social Work Program.If you are interested in applying for the MSW program, you should strongly consider attending one of the information sessions. At these sessions, you can find out more about the profession of Social Work and receive tips on how to submit a strong application. Application packets will be available at the session for $10 (cash, check or money order accepted).

MSW Application Packet

Applications will become available in October. The "priority deadline" for submitting an application is the last Friday in January, but applications may still be accepted after that date if slots are available. Application packets contain all the necessary information and paperwork needed to apply to the School of Social Work and University.

How to Obtain an Application Packet

1. Visit the School of Social Work Office:

  • An Application packet may be purchased through our office for $10, payable by cash or check ONLY.

2. Request by Mail:

  • Download and complete the Request for Application Packet and return to the School of Social Work office by mail, along with a $10 check or money order. Requests for packets submitted before October 2011 will not be accepted.

Applications may be submitted between October and January. Please note that completed applications should be postmarked or submitted in person by the last Friday of January in order to meet the "priority deadline."

Process and Timeline

  • Contact the Social Work Office for an application packet for the MSW Program.
  • Apply to CSUSB as a graduate student online (a separate required application).
  • Attend an on-campus orientation session. Dates are in the packet.
  • Deadline for submission of MSW program application for assured consideration is last Friday of January.
  • Review process begins in February.
  • Admissions decisions are made from April through June.
